<image:title>Our Story - BE THE FIRST</image:title>
<image:caption>The first secret society for women, Alpha Delta Pi was founded as the Adelphean Society in 1851 at Wesleyan Female College in Macon, Georgia. For its founders, ADPi was more than a ritual or symbol; it was a way of life. ADPi was founded at the University of Kansas on May 15, 1912. We are the Tau chapter, one of the oldest ADPi chapters in the United States. Since then, we have relentlessly and unwaveringly championed the sacred values that define our chapter. The four points of our beloved diamond represent scholarship, sisterhood, service, and character. Come home to the Tau chapter of ADPi and experience a group of women who will inspire you to be the best version of yourself throughout your collegiate experience and beyond.</image:caption>

<image:caption>We Live For Each Other. To us, this is more than just a motto. It's a celebration of embracing each sister's authenticity, loving one another unconditionally, sharing late-night ice cream runs, cherishing laughter that brings tears, indulging in Bachelor marathons within the Pi Palace. It's the beautiful realization that we have found not just friends, but a home within each other's hearts.</image:caption>

<image:title>Philanthropy - RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE</image:title>
<image:caption>We are proud of our long-standing relationship with RMH. Since our partnership began in 1979, Alpha Delta Pi has contributed more than $20,500,000 to this worthwhile organization. Every semester, Tau holds two major philanthropy events. In October of 2023, we hosted “Chicken N Fries with ADPi,” a popular event where our beloved chef Josh made chicken tenders and fries that we sold to raise money for RMH. This event raised over $14,000 for RMHC! In May of 2024, we hosted a second philanthropy called ADPicnic, selling hot dogs, hamburgers, and more to raise money for RMH. During the 2023-2024 school year, Tau raised over $28,000! Also, our members regularly travel to Kansas City to volunteer at the Ronald McDonald Houses located downtown. We cook and package hundreds of meals for the families staying in these homes. Being so close to Ronald McDonald Houses is a unique feature of Tau, one that we cherish because it means we can grow closer to our philanthropy.</image:caption>

<image:title>Philanthropy - COMMUNITY SERVICE</image:title>
<image:caption>One of the four points on our cherished diamond is “service.” At Alpha Delta Pi, members not only support a philanthropy; they also support their community. In the fall of 2023, our women earned the most community service hours across all Panhellenic chapters. Overall, we had an average of 9.6 hours per chapter member. From the Lawrence Humane Society to the Elizabeth B. Ballard Community Center, giving back is at the core of what it means to be an ADPi.</image:caption>

<image:title>Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging - PRIORITIZING COMMUNITY</image:title>
<image:caption>The Tau Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi recognizes and affirms the worth of every individual and actively seeks and supports a sisterhood that represents a diverse population. We ask our members to create an atmosphere of respect for different identities, personalities, experiences, backgrounds, and beliefs. Tau is committed to providing an inclusive space for our members and communities rooted in awareness, transparency, and foundational learning. We believe that our differences make us stronger, and at Tau, these differences are uniquely understood and celebrated. Tau creates a culture of belonging in many ways. Throughout the school year, our Director of Community organizes a variety of programs aimed at broadening our chapter’s perspective on the world around us. These programs include inviting speakers to chapter meetings, hosting cultural food events, and movie nights to celebrate Black History Month, Asian-American History Month, and more. Through our motto, We Live For Each Other, we make sure that every member of our sisterhood feels heard, included, and celebrated. We love each other for who we are, not who we think each other should be. This culture at Tau creates a sisterhood that is strong, supportive, and lifelong.</image:caption>

<image:title>Recruitment - WHY ADPI?</image:title>
<image:caption>“During Fall Formal Recruitment, the moment I sat down with the woman of Alpha Delta Pi, I felt understood and cared for. I never felt like I had to put up a facade and was able to be my authentic self. I was able to make friendships with women I knew actually cared about me and my well-being. It is indescribable for me, talking to someone I had just met, but I knew they would have a lifelong impact on my life and who I would become. When I chose Alpha Delta Pi, I knew it was going to be so much more than just friends and acquaintances I met while at college. I found women that would be with me in my highest highs and lowest lows, all throughout my life. That is all I wanted and could ever ask for and Alpha Delta Pi has done nothing but given me a glimpse of the joys it will bring to me all throughout my life.” — Paige Hunter, AC ‘22</image:caption>

<image:title>Sisterhood - WE LIVE FOR EACH OTHER.</image:title>
<image:caption>This is our open motto and one of the defining aspects of our sisterhood. WLFEO means always being there for each other. It’s saving your roommate the last of Chef Josh’s delicious brownies from dinner because you know she had a bad day. It’s your big picking you up from your exam at Budig Hall at 10 p.m. in the middle of an ice storm so you don’t have to walk home in freezing temperatures. It’s having Bachelor watch parties in the Pi Palace, finally being able to relax after a long day. It’s always knowing that no matter what happens, there is a group of women standing by your side, loving you for who you are, not who they want you to be.</image:caption>

<image:title>Sisterhood - OUR DIAMOND FAMILIES</image:title>
<image:caption>Another special part of our sisterhood is our diamond families. This is what ADPi calls our big/little system! A “big” is an older member that serves as a mentor, guiding our Alphas through initiation, ADPi, and college life. Alphas meet potential bigs though Pi Pal dates; from getting ice cream to going on walks on campus, there are so many fun ways for Alphas to find their future big. Big/little reveal occurs at our annual Chapter Retreat, where each big is revealed to her little. From going to a Royals game or celebrating at Main Event, Chapter Retreat is always such a special time for ADPi. However, the fun doesn’t end there. Our diamond families are an integral part of our sisterhood. From family dinner nights to study sessions at the Pi Palace, our diamond families forge lifelong friendships!</image:caption>
